Exhibition CV

Sarah Cannell is a Norfolk artist who has always been inspired by the colours and textures of rural landscapes. Her abstracted landscape paintings stem from close observation of the fields and lanes of South Norfolk. A graduate of Falmouth College of Arts her work also reflects the brilliance of colour found in Cornish light. Through energetic mark making she conveys the changing seasons and patterns found in rural landscapes. Sarah builds up colour and texture on heavy paper using acrylic paint, layered and scraped, sometimes with minimal machine stitching to emphasise line. Her main aim is to create uncontained landscapes with a luminosity and depth of colour.
